Temporary Emergency Horse Shelter
Short-term emergency stabling for hurricanes, severe weather, evacuations, and other temporary shelter needs in Delray Beach, Florida.
Hurricane season in South Florida can be stressful for horse owners, especially when a storm is approaching and safe shelter is needed quickly. Facility damage, flooding, fire, extended power loss, or other unsafe barn conditions may also create an unexpected need for temporary horse shelter.
AMP Stables & Boarding may have limited short-term stall availability for horse owners who need a safe, temporary place for their horses during an emergency. Because space is limited and emergency preparation takes time, advance arrangements are strongly encouraged.
AMP Stables & Boarding does not provide evacuation transportation. Horse owners are responsible for transporting their horses to and from the facility.
Important Notice
### Important Notice
Temporary emergency stall space is not guaranteed and is offered only when AMP Stables & Boarding has availability and can safely accommodate additional horses.
Submitting a request does not reserve or confirm a stall. Each request is reviewed individually based on stall availability, the horse’s needs, timing, weather and emergency conditions, staffing, and overall barn safety.
What We Offer
When available, temporary emergency stabling may include:
-
Temporary stall housing during emergency preparation and recovery
-
Water provided in stalls
-
Feeding of owner-supplied hay and feed according to written instructions
-
Stall cleaning and routine care
-
Administration of owner-supplied supplements and preapproved medications according to written instructions
All services will be performed as weather and safety conditions allow. During severe weather, normal care schedules may be modified or delayed until staff can safely access the barn.
Horse owners are responsible for providing all hay, feed, supplements, medications, halters, lead ropes, and written care instructions unless other arrangements are approved in advance.

To be considered for temporary emergency stall availability, horse owners must provide:
-
A current negative Coggins test

Owner and emergency contact information
-
Veterinary contact information
-
All hay, feed, supplements, medications, and necessary supplies
-
Written feeding, medication, and care instructions
-
A signed AMP Stables & Boarding liability waiver
-
Signed emergency veterinary care authorization
-
Payment before or upon arrival, unless otherwise approved in advance

Owner Responsibilities
Horse owners are responsible for:
-
Providing complete and accurate information about their horse’s health, behavior, handling, feeding, medications, and special-care needs
-
Supplying enough hay, feed, supplements, medications, and other necessary supplies for the anticipated stay, plus additional supplies in case conditions delay pickup
-
All veterinary, farrier, transportation, emergency care, and other third-party expenses
-
Arranging transportation to and from AMP Stables & Boarding
-
Picking up their horse within the agreed timeframe once travel and facility conditions allow
AMP Stables & Boarding will make reasonable efforts to care for each horse safely during an emergency. However, horse owners acknowledge that hurricanes, severe weather, facility disruptions, and other emergencies involve circumstances and risks that may be outside AMP Stables & Boarding’s control.
Timing & Availability
Please do not wait until the last minute to inquire about emergency stall availability.
As a storm approaches or another emergency develops, available space may become very limited. Barn preparation, staffing, road conditions, weather timelines, and overall safety may affect whether additional horses can be accepted.
All arrivals must take place during an approved drop-off window. AMP Stables & Boarding may stop accepting horses once weather, road, facility, or emergency conditions begin to deteriorate.
Pricing
Temporary emergency stabling rates may vary based on the number of horses, length of stay, and level of care required.
Please contact AMP Stables & Boarding for current availability and pricing.
