Riding Lessons
We don't just teach people to ride. We teach them to understand horses.
Learning to ride is about more than what happens in the saddle. At AMP Stables & Boarding, lessons combine mounted instruction with hands-on horsemanship to help students develop riding skills, confidence, responsibility, and a genuine understanding of horses.
Whether you are entering a barn for the first time or returning to riding after time away, lessons are tailored to your experience, goals, and comfort level. Students progress at an appropriate pace while learning to safely handle, care for, communicate with, and ride their equine partners.

Program Structure
Lessons combine mounted instruction with hands-on horsemanship. Depending on the rider’s experience, goals, and lesson plan, lesson time may include grooming, tacking up, mounted riding, untacking, and fundamental horse care.
Private and semi-private lesson availability is based on rider experience, scheduling, instructor availability, and appropriate horse pairings.

Our Teaching Philosophy
At AMP Stables & Boarding, we believe great riders are first taught to become good horsemen and horsewomen.
Learning to ride is only one part of the journey. Understanding horse behavior, developing confidence, practicing patience, and learning to care for a horse are just as important as mastering riding skills. Every lesson is designed to help students become knowledgeable, compassionate equestrians while building confidence, responsibility, and respect for both horses and the people around them.
Our instructors meet each student where they are, creating individualized lessons that encourage steady progress in a positive, supportive environment. Whether your goal is recreational riding, competition, or simply building a lifelong connection with horses, we're committed to helping every student succeed.
Throughout our lesson program, students develop:
-
