A Legacy That Began in 2000

AMP Stables began in 2000 under the vision of founder Melinda, who created a place where horses received thoughtful, home-like care and young riders could grow with confidence, compassion, and skill.
 

Over the years, AMP became a trusted part of the local equestrian community as both a boarding and lesson barn, known for its welcoming atmosphere, strong values, and dedication to horsemanship and education.
 

A New Chapter for AMP

In December 2024, AMP entered a new chapter when Erica and Russ Brown purchased the business. Under their ownership, AMP Stables & Boarding continues to honor its original foundation while expanding its programs, strengthening its community, and creating new opportunities for the future.
 

Today, AMP reflects the Brown family’s commitment to quality horse care, meaningful education, hands-on involvement, structure, and a welcoming environment for riders, boarders, and families.

Honoring the Past While Building the Future

Melinda continues to play an important role in AMP’s story as lead instructor. Her years of experience, passion for teaching, and deep knowledge of horsemanship remain a meaningful part of the barn’s foundation.
 

Under her instruction, riders continue to build confidence, skill, responsibility, and respect for the horse.

Education, Horsemanship & Family

As AMP’s educational programs continue to grow, students are given opportunities not only to ride, but also to understand horse care, barn management, teamwork, accountability, and real-world life skills.
 

Through Equitation Club, seasonal programs, and hands-on horsemanship experiences, AMP helps students become more confident, capable, and connected young equestrians.

Aedan and Kyle, two of Erica and Russ Brown’s sons, serve as head counselors within AMP’s youth programs. After spending several years in Equitation Club and private lessons with Melinda, they now help guide younger students through the same program that helped shape their own horsemanship.

Whether a student comes for lessons or Equitation Club, or a boarder arrives with their beloved horse, the goal is the same: to make sure every horse receives thoughtful care and every person feels welcome, supported, and truly at home.
